Explore the “Milky Way”
The Universum® Bremen has a special area for little researchers aged three to eight: the “Milky Way”. Collect, sort, build and dream! We have 25 experiment stations just waiting to be discovered. Our “Milky Way” is open to nursery groups every weekday.
Prior reservation is required by telephone on +49 (0)421 3346 333 or via e-mail at email@example.com. One supervisor goes free for every 5 children.
Accompanying research and discovery learning
What experiments are actually suitable and which projects worth it? How do I help children to discover their world? The Universum® Bremen offers advanced training and membership of the little researchers’ house for nursery workers. The focus is always on experiments and we address specific questions – of course, there is always plenty of time for exchanges with colleagues.
In early summer, nursery groups have the chance to “dive” into a wet programme exploring the topic of water worlds. In the course of one morning, the groups who have booked can explore the numerous hands-on stations and experiments in the outdoor area of the Universum®. The offer lasts for approximately three hours and is hosted and supervised by our trained staff.
Under the theme of “Water Fun”, the children set out on a journey of discovery and explore the varied aspects of the blue element. How does water sort stones and sand? What colours appear in a water prism? How does a bottle orchestra work? If the weather is against us, we hold a little “water workshop” with small, but amazing experiments in our Researcher’s Lab.
Dates: 1 – 5 June 2015 and 8 – 12 June 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. each time.
In late autumn, “Mighty Mechanics” is on the cards. This gives nursery groups the chance to get their hands dirty designing and building. In the “Milky Way” children’s section, nurseries can each spend a morning producing simple mechanical constructions using a wide range of different materials. They can then take these with them, exhibit them, modify them or continue to build them. The offer lasts for approximately three hours and is hosted by two trained members of staff.
Dates: 23 – 27 November 2015 and 30 November – 4 December 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. each time.
